Job Description - Title Clerk

Job Summary:


  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Title Clerk to join our team at Paul Miller Ford. The Title Clerk will be responsible for checking title documents for accuracy, preparing title work for submission to the county clerk, and handling fleet title paperwork. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth financial operations of our dealership.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Calculate and verify taxes on deals

  • Professionally communicate with the clerk's office to resolve issues and obtain updates

  • Contact banks for lien release information

  • Collaborate with other departments to gather missing information

  • Manage out-of-state title processing

  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail

  • Maintaining the title log

  • Manage flooring and dealer trades

  • Generate equity reports

  • Coordinating sheriff inspections for vehicles



Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.

  • Proven experience as a title clerk or in a similar role.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
