Job Description - Tool Crib Store Attendant


Manages inventory, materials, and tooling within the production environment, ensuring efficient 

receiving, storage, and issuance to support manufacturing processes


Requirements

Responsibility

· Issue tools and materials to production staff or production lines based on work orders, requisitions, or schedules.

· Perform regular physical inventories, cycle counts, and audits to reconcile stock levels and identify discrepancies.

  • Loading/unloading materials.
  • Update inventory systems.
  • Perform physical counts.
  • Proficiency in using computers and inventory management software.
  • Record inventory transactions in computer systems or manual logs to ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Receive, check, inspect, sort, and store incoming raw materials, tools, and supplies, comparing them against packing slips and purchase order
  • Distribute monthly usage reports.

· Complies with OSHA Safety Standards: Lockout/Tagout, use of proper PPE, Hazard Communication and Ergonomics.

· Maintains all work areas in a safe and orderly fashion according to plant standards.

· Maintain continuity between all shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs.

· Maintain proper housekeeping following the 5-S Cleaning System. (Sort-Set in Order-Shine-Standardize-Sustain.

· Other duties as assigned.

Academic/Educational Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.

1-3 years’ experience in a high volume, precision machining environment

Technical and Basic math skills required. Mechanical aptitude. Computer skills.

Working Conditions

40 hours per week-overtime when required due to customer demands

Please note: All schedules and changes to working hours must be approved by the department manager. Schedule is subject to change based on discretion of department manager. 

Facility Specific

Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in the facility’s geographic location including but not limited to: 

· ISO 45001: Health and Safety management system standard.

· ISO 14001: Environmental Management system standard.

· IATF 16949 Technical Specification Management and Linamar Quality Basics system standards.

Ensure compliance with Linamar’s internal operating system known as ‘GOS’: The Global Operating System.

Support, Foster, Promote and Demonstrate Linamar’s Core Values and Leadership Behaviours.

Maintain department 5S requirements.
