The Semiconductor Tool Install Electrical CAD Designer serves as the Architectural and Engineering firm Representative supporting electrical design coordination and technical execution for tool installation scopes within semiconductor manufacturing environments. This role focuses on developing detailed electrical design packages, validating technical requirements, and ensuring designs align with project specifications, code compliance, and installation needs. The Electrical CAD Designer works closely with engineering teams, project stakeholders, and multidisciplinary design groups to deliver accurate, coordinated, and constructible electrical systems that support successful project delivery.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED is required; an Associate degree in engineering or architectural fields is preferred

  • Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD is required; experience with tools such as Revit, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, and/or EasyPower is a plus

  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA, etc.)


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in semiconductor tool install, semiconductor, cleanroom, or industrial project environments


Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Work on behalf of the Engineer of Record and design team on specified tool installation scopes at a semiconductor project site

  • Generate comprehensive technical project plans, specifications, drawings, and models aligned with industry standards and client requirements

  • Determine conduit, conductor, and wire sizing, accounting for current loads and environmental conditions

  • Assess cable tray fills to ensure proper cable management, organization, and scalability

  • Perform short circuit calculations to determine fault currents and specify appropriate protective devices

  • Perform voltage drop calculations to ensure electrical system performance and compliance with applicable standards

  • Ensure all electrical designs adhere to applicable local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations

  • Apply established design techniques and use judgment to adapt and refine design concepts while maintaining CAD and design standards

  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to address design objectives and resolve complex technical challenges

  • Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams (Mechanical, Structural, Process/Chemical, Architectural, etc.) to ensure integrated and complete design deliverables

Salary Range

$130,000 - $200,000 USD
