What you’ll do: You’ll perform all substance abuse training activities to ensure Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) and Management & Training Corporation (MTC) training requirements are met. All related responsibilities are to ensure the maximum utilization of resources available for chemical dependency treatment and rehabilitation in compliance with MTC and TDCJ directives.
Essential Functions:
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), major course work in Sociology, Criminal Justice, Psychology or related field preferred.
Must possess current valid licensure as Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHSP), or current valid licensure as Qualified Credentialed Counselor (QCC) licensed to conduct counseling in a treatment environment.
Two (2) years full-time wage-earning experience in substance abuse treatment required.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
Post Hire Requirements:
Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements and pass an annual background check, both of which must be approved by TDCJ. Maintain credentials and/or licensure required to maintain employment in position.
