Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nEaton\u2019s Electrical Sector is currently seeking an Transformer Team Lead to join our First shift team. This position is based at our Richmond, VA facility. \n \nPosition Overview: \nThe Production Lead-Transformer position is focused on building Transformer sub-assemblies and assemblies to customer specifications using mechanical or power hand tools, machines, gauges, soldering and brazing equipment. In addition to day-to-day operations, the role is responsible for ensuring department meets operational goals around safety, quality, productivity, and on time delivery. \n \nMaking what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world. It\u2019s where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potential\u2014and where you can help us reach ours. \n \nIn this function you will: \n\u2022 Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to build sub-assemblies and assemblies \n\u2022 Use heavy industrial equipment, including cranes, winding machines, fabrication, welding and brazing equipment \n\u2022 Be responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assembly \n\u2022 Use various fixtures, gauges, hand tools and power tools to assemble, adjust, or repair product \n\u2022 Inspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and making necessary adjustments when required in order to meet quality goals \n\u2022 Provide process and safety improvement ideas \n\u2022 Ensure machines and tools are properly calibrated and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5S+ and participate in periodic 5S+ audits of various operations \n\u2022 Use available reports and monitor the progress of projects on the production floor to ensure on time delivery to the customer expectations \n\u2022 Provide feedback to management on the matters that impede the progress of management\u2019s objectives of providing a harmonious, safe and productive work environment \n\u2022 Comply with and ensure department compliance with all company guidelines, including health, safety, environment, attendance and punctuality \n\u2022 Communicate shift status to Production Management as well as opposite shift lead \n\u2022 Support continuous improvement of assigned area(s) including maintaining visual management board \n \nWhen we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we \u2014 as individuals and as a company \u2014 are stronger. \n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications: \n\u2022 High School Diploma or equivalent or GED \n\n \nCandidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future. \nNo relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Richmond, VA location. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. \n \n \nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 2 to 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred \n\u2022 Previous supervisory experience preferred \n\u2022 Lean 6S [5S + Safety] experience preferred \n\n## Skills:\n\nPosition Criteria: \n\u2022 Ability to solve complex practical problems \n\u2022 Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives, and reassign priorities \n\u2022 Ability to deal with a wide variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists \n\u2022 Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form \n\u2022 Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines \n\u2022 Individual may be required to sit, stand and walk regularly \n\u2022 Individual must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion. \n\u2022 Individual may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, push and/or pull. \n\nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
