Transport Refrigeration Technician

Description

• Perform preventive maintenance & service inspections on a variety of transport refrigeration units (TRU) & auxiliary power units (APU) & heater equipment
• Perform diagnostic, repair work on mobile refrigeration equipment, auxiliary power units & heater equipment
• Follow established technical & administrative processes
• Complete repair orders & parts usage forms
• Communicate effectively with supervisor, team members & customers
• Remain current on technical & regulation requirements
• Thermo King University Certi-Tech certification (to be completed within one year) and maintained
• EPA 608 & 609 certifications (to be completed within one year)
• On Call duties rotation once skill level and training requirements have been met

Requirements

• Experience in the field of transport refrigeration equipment (Thermo King or Carrier Transicold preferred) a BIG Plus 
• Skills to sufficiently install, diagnose and repair transport refrigeration, air conditioning and heating equipment
• Demonstrate technical knowledge of refrigeration systems, components, materials, methods & equipment to perform, prioritize and complete job assignments
• Own & maintain the proper hand tools to perform job functions
• High school diploma or equivalent, technical trade school a plus
• Proficient with computer operation/usage
• Valid driver’s license
