About this position: Transportation Coordinator                   Location – El Paso, TX

Essential Duties & Responsibilities



  • Ensure all transportation activities are carried out smoothly and efficiently.

  • ​Maintain proper communication with clients, carriers, and other stakeholders to determine their needs and priorities.

  • ​Schedule and coordinate transportation activities based on the needs of the client and the availability of vehicles.

  • ​Ensure that all applicable regulations and laws are complied with regarding transportation operations.

  • Track and monitor shipments using transportation management systems.

  • ​ Address and resolve any customer complaints or issues related to transportation.

  • Maintain accurate records of all transportation operations and transactions, including billing and invoicing.

  • ​ Manage and maintain relationships with carriers, including negotiating rates, terms, and service level agreements.

  • ​Identify potential cost savings and process efficiencies in the transportation network.


Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications



  • Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics



  • Knowledge and understanding of data management, data analytics capability, data visualization.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent one-on-one and group presentation and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to use a variety of learning/training concepts and principles.

  • Agile development experience


 


Preferred



  • Associate or bachelor’s Degree in related field


Supervisory Responsibilities



  • This position will have supervisory responsibilities.


 


DOT Covered/Safety-Sensitive Role Requirements



  • This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.


Necessary Physical Requirements


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about.


Work Environment


The work environmental characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the role. The job is performed in an open element setting with exposure to high stress situations and requires extensive ability to think under pressure in high stress situations.  The work described herein is primarily in detention facility setting. Occasional travel may be required. This position requires the applicant to report to work daily and off hours in the event of an emergency incident.


 


Additional Qualifying Factors


As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance levels required and must also be able to obtain access to military installations.
