Pay: $130,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year

Location: Charlotte, NC. This is primarily an in-office opportunity, with a flexible 4 days in-office / 1 day remote schedule available after your first 6 months.

Note: Must have an active North Carolina Bar license in good standing and 5+ years of plaintiff-side litigation experience, with strong preference for attorneys who have substantial personal injury trial experience.

Job Description

  • Lead complex personal injury cases through all stages of litigation, from case strategy and discovery through mediation and trial.
  • Manage matters in North Carolina District and Superior Courts while developing effective case strategies tailored to each client.
  • Investigate claims, analyze evidence, and prepare compelling briefs, motions, pleadings, and other litigation documents.
  • Conduct depositions, discovery, expert consultations, and witness preparation.
  • Take cases to verdict and confidently handle openings, closings, cross-examinations, and presentation of evidence.
  • Counsel clients throughout the litigation process and establish clear, realistic expectations.
  • Collaborate with experienced legal staff and other attorneys to efficiently advance cases.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and help strengthen processes, strategy, and performance across the litigation team.
  • Develop into a potential future leadership resource for the litigation department.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active North Carolina Bar license in good standing.
  • 5+ years of plaintiff-side litigation experience.
  • Personal injury litigation experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases from inception through resolution.
  • Strong understanding of civil litigation rules, courtroom procedure, discovery, and trial strategy.
  • Meaningful deposition and trial experience, including openings, closings, and witness examination.
  • Excellent legal writing, negotiation, communication, and client-management skills.
  • Ability to remain composed, strategic, and effective in high-pressure litigation environments.
  • South Carolina Bar admission is a plus.

  • 5+ years: $130K-$145K
