Job Description - Truck Driver




Qualifications/Knowledge:



a



a Must have a current valid driver's license



a Must be at least 18 years of age



a



a Knowledge of the techniques, equipment and supplies used in road maintenance



a Knowledge of county and departmental safety policies and procedures



a Knowledge of the geography of the county, including road names and locations



a Skill in the operation of assigned vehicles, trucks and equipment



a Skill in prioritizing and organizing work



a Skill in the use of hand and power tools



a Skill in oral and written communication


Requirements



a Operates a low-boy truck, water truck, dump truck, flat-bed truck and other trucks to transport materials to and



from work sites



a Operates a front-end loader and backhoe and other equipment as needed



a Performs laboring duties as needed



a Flags traffic at work sites



a Inspects trucks and equipment prior to operation; checks fluid levels, tires, lights, etc.; lubricates and washes truck



a Operates a variety of hand and power tools



a Performs all other related duties as assigned
