Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nPRIMARY FUNCTION:\n\nDemonstrates competency in executing measurements, performing routine repairs, performing calibrations in one or more discipline areas as well as detecting and resolving basic problems.\n\nWORKING PROCEDURE AND/OR RESPONSIBILITY ASSIGNED:\n\nTHE FOLLOWING ARE THE USUAL MAJOR JOB DUTIES BUT THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT PRECLUDE THE PERFORMANCE OF OTHER DUTIES BY THE INCUMBENT, NOR THE QUESTION BEING RAISED ON THE PROPER RATE OF PAY FOR THE ASSIGNMENT.\n\nIn addition to performing the duties of the Jr. Calibration Technician, performs the following:\n\nSet up, maintain, and calibrate working level instruments and laboratory standards for any five (5) or more types of instruments within one of the following three groups.\n\nMechanical \u0026 Physical work such as:\n\n1\\. Pressure 5. Force\n\n2\\. Vacuum 6. Torque\n\n3\\. Temperature \n\n4\\. Humidity\n\nGage work such as:\n\n1\\. Optics 5. Rings, plug, snap \u0026 fixtures (\u201cGo-\u201cNo Go\u201d)\n\n2\\. Machine cutting tools 6. Angular \u0026 Radial measurement\n\n3\\. Threads 7. Lineal measurement\n\n4\\. Hardness 8. Laser Interferometry\n\n9\\. Surface flatness\n\nC. Electrical and electronic work such as:\n\n1\\. Time and frequency 6. DC Voltage, current and power\n\n2\\. Distortion 7. AC Voltage, current and power\n\n3\\. Acceleration 8. Resistance, capacitance, inductance\n\n4\\. Vibration 9. Bridges\n\n5\\. Displacement \u0026 velocity 10. Oscilloscopes\n\nTroubleshoot, diagnose and repair instruments and standards as required.\n\nRecommend improvements and change to calibration procedures and instrument recall cycles. Perform similar or lower classified work as required.\n\nDIRECTION OF OTHERS:\n\nProvide technical guidance and instruction to other technicians in lower classifications.\n\nDIRECTION RECEIVED:\n\nOccasional technical assistance from Laboratory Engineers and higher classified technicians. General assistance from immediate supervisor.\n\n### \n\n### This is a Union represented position.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * High School Diploma or equivalent GED.\n\n * A Minimum of 2 years\u0027 experience as a Calibration Technician or equivalent such as related instrument calibration and repair work.\n\n * US Citizenship is required.\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Associates degree from an accredited school, or other 2 year technical college degree.\n\n * Prior work experience in physical, dimensional, and electrical calibration processes.\n\n\n\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
