Our mission:
Open Space for Arts & Community is where Vashon gathers to celebrate the unbreakable bond between arts and community. We co-create extraordinary artistic, community-building experiences that enrich and inspire.
The UMO School of Physical Arts is a program of Open Space offering classes in aerial, acro gymnastics, parkour, skateboarding, and Jiu Jitsu. UMO School serves over 160 students, youth through adults, for 9 months of the year with performances in the winter and spring. The UMO School of Physical Arts seeks to inspire creative possibility and recognize students’ creative force by giving them a safe place to learn and a variety of tools based on UMO Ensemble's dynamic physical theatre.
Open Space seeks a UMO School Instructional Specialist with excellent communication skills and extensive teaching experience in the physical arts. The UMO School Instructional Specialist reports to the UMO Program Manager and is enthusiastic about working with and teaching youth.
