Unarmed Security Officer

Description:

Conduct unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior). Control access and egress. Monitor CCTV and alarm systems. Compose reports. Deter criminal activity and misconduct. Perform other duties as specified in post orders.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers


• Be at least 18 years old or minimum age required by the State


• Be able to work flexible schedules


• Have a high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED)


• Have access to reliable transportation


• Be able to pass an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, polygraph and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks (if applicable)


• Ability to provide high quality customer service at various social levels and across diverse cultures


• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form


• Ability to be an effective team member and to work independently


• Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports


•  Ability to successfully complete all training required for the position


• Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances and challenging individuals


• Seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly in order to communicate with employees and clients, observe and report incidents, and direct others


• Frequent sitting, standing and walking that may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain and occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling


• Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds


• May require driving vehicle for long periods of time in the performance of duties


• Depending upon assignment may be exposed to inclement weather


• Driving record must meet company and/or insurance standards


• Maintain a State issued concealed firearm permit


• Not use illegal drugs. You must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).


• Be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if you were in the military
