We are looking for a Full time, 40 hours per week Unit Clerk for our Skilled Unit to work Monday - Friday 8a - 4:30p to join our TEAM!
General Summary
The unit clerk is responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties relating to the updating and organizing of information on the nursing units; coordinating work within the unit as well as with other units and departments; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries and requests from staff personnel, etc.
Essential Job Functions
Maintenance tasks relating to chart order, chart accuracy, and chart current data
Keep all necessary lists and schedules including Physicians rounds for residents
Answer the telephone in a professional manner; direct calls to appropriate individuals and/or take messages
Submit requisitions for office and medical supplies weekly for unit
Submit work orders to maintain proper and safe equipment function
Fax and photocopy information as needed
Coordinate specific work tasks with other personnel within the unit as well as within other units and departments to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information
Respond to inquiries into the employee's particular area within given timeframes and within established policy
Participate in computer training and assume gradually increasing computer-related responsibilities
Will be properly trained to be the back up for the Nursing Staff Coordinator regarding scheduling
Any other duties assigned by Supervisor
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma minimum
Experience in the health care industry is required
Must have a CNA license
Must have computer experience including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Staff scheduling experience (preferred)
