Unit Coordinator - Intensive Care Unit - Days

Plans, organizes, and supervises staff and activities for the assigned area. Recommends innovations in the practice and function of services to the Director and carries out mutually agreed upon programs.

  • Directs and oversees the services and staff of the assigned areas to assure effective daily operations
  
  
  • Assures the continued delivery of quality and cost-effective services
  
  
  • Trends supplemental staffing usage and provides analysis and recommendations based on productivity
  
  
  • Oversees department programs and initiatives to assure compliance, optimization, and continuous improvement
  
  


• Provides essential direction to assure effective day-to-day operations
  
  
  
  • Coordinates activities to ensure operation within budgeted parameters
  
  
  • Monitors and adjusts staffing assignments based on priority, staffing standards, needs of the unit or area, and competency of staff
  
  
  • Monitors staff activities to ensure compliance with Memorial policies and procedures, regulatory and accreditation agencies
  
  
  • Performs interviews, hires, and employment actions
  
  
  • Coaches team members in accountability and identifies opportunities for improvement
  
  
  • Empowers the staff to make clinical and process decisions
  
  
  • Performs performance appraisal process for staff
  
  

Education:

• Associate's Degree


• Associate Degree in Nursing

Experience:

• 3

• Clinical nursing experience


• In a hospital setting with staffing or operational management experience preferred
