Position Summary


The facility is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Urologist to join its established urology practice in Dothan, Alabama.


This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive urologic care in a thriving regional referral center with strong community demand and an established referral network. The Urologist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of genitourinary conditions affecting both male and female patients.


The physician will perform outpatient and inpatient consultations, surgical procedures, and ongoing patient management while collaborating closely with primary care providers, specialists, advanced practice providers, and hospital staff to deliver exceptional patient-centered care.


The organization will consider 2027 residency or fellowship candidates. No visa sponsorship is available for this position.


Essential Position Responsibilities




  • Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of urologic conditions




  • Manage disorders involving the kidneys, bladder, prostate, ureters, and male reproductive system




  • Perform a variety of urologic procedures and surgeries in both inpatient and outpatient settings




  • Evaluate and treat conditions such as kidney stones, urinary incontinence, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), urinary tract disorders, and urologic cancers




  • Interpret laboratory studies, imaging, pathology reports, and specialized diagnostic testing




  • Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based medicine




  • Collaborate with primary care physicians and specialists regarding patient management




  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, procedures, and postoperative care




  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR)




  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and multidisciplinary care planning




  • Support and contribute to the academic mission of the organization when applicable




Qualifications


Education




  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)




  • Completion of an accredited Urology Residency Program




Licensure & Certification




  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Urology




  • Eligible for or holding an active Alabama medical license




  • Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain




  • Current BLS certification required




Experience




  • Experienced Urologists encouraged to apply
