Used Vehicle Reconditioning Technician

Theodore Robbins Ford is a trusted Ford dealership serving the Costa Mesa, CA community. We are currently looking for a skilled Used Vehicle Reconditioning Technician to join our service team. If you have hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics, suspension, and brake systems — and take pride in quality work — we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As an Automotive Technician at Theodore Robbins Ford, you will play a key role in inspecting and reconditioning pre-owned inventory to ensure every vehicle is safe, reliable, and retail-ready. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Recondition pre-owned vehicles for front-line sales


• Receive and complete repair orders from the dispatcher efficiently and accurately, in accordance with dealership standards


• Diagnose malfunctions and perform the appropriate repairs


• Coordinate with the parts department to source required components


• Inspect vehicles to identify any additional safety or service needs


• Communicate promptly with service advisors regarding scope changes or timeline concerns


• Document all work performed thoroughly and accurately


• Road-test vehicles as needed to verify repair quality


• Maintain a clean, organized work area and properly manage all dealership-owned tools

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on automotive repair experience


• Solid understanding of automotive diagnostics, suspension systems, and brake repair


• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dealership environment


• Strong attention to detail and a reliable work ethic


• Valid driver's license required


• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods
