Eaton\u2019s ES AMER NAS division is currently seeking a Utility Lead Sales Engineer. This is a home-based position and candidates for this role must reside within 50 miles of one of our following locations to be considered for the position: Broomfield, CO; Littleton, CO or Salt Lake City, UT.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nPosition Overview: \nThe primary function of the Lead Sales Engineer is to market and sell Eaton\u2019s products and services to obtain orders that are profitable to Eaton. The position is expected to achieve electrical distribution and engineering services solutions sales results. This will be expected in the geographic market region consistent with the expectations of seasoned sales professionals. The primary responsibility is to manage the assigned customer base, to increase sales in the local marketplace, application guidance and technical assistance to assigned customers. This position is expected to develop, grow and maintain relationships with Eaton employees, specifiers and customers, including Eaton authorized distributors.\n\nIn this function you will: \n\u2022 Develop and execute sales plans to meet performance expectations and requirements \n\u2022 Quote projects and negotiate correct required pricing \n\u2022 Prepare sales presentations to create product understanding and awareness \n\u2022 Build relationships with key customers and distribution partners to enhance long-term business prospects \n\u2022 Work with factories to resolve technical issues while working with customers to resolve quality issues \n\u2022 Canvas the market to gain insight and adjust to ever changing pricing and delivery requirements \n\u2022 Assist the team to develop a coordinated sales effort while keeping management informed of market conditions \n\u2022 Obtain ongoing training on both functional and technical skills\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications: \n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree from an accredited institution \n\u2022 Minimum five (5) years of electrical industry sales/marketing and/or electrical engineering experience \n\u2022 Possess a valid driver\u2019s license \n\u2022 No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Broomfield, CO; Littleton, CO or Salt Lake City, UT to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering \n\u2022 Sales experience within the utility market, inclusive of transmission and distribution or generation \n\u2022 Channel management experience \n\u2022 Project management experience \n\u2022 Experience working with consulting engineers \n\u2022 Knowledge of public power market \n\u2022 Salesforce CRM experience\n\n## Skills:\n\nPosition Criteria: \n\u2022 Possess excellent communication skills \n\u2022 Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future \n\u2022 Ability to respond to a variety of circumstances while continuing to demonstrate superior selling skills for important customer services and applications \n\u2022 Experience with Microsoft software and Salesforce software \n\u2022 Experience managing channel partners \n\u2022 Strong drive for results and self-motivated \n\u2022 Solid business acumen and decision-making skills \n\u2022 Ability to travel 30-60% (primarily local customer travel within assigned territory) \n\u2022 Knowledge of competitor products and channels in the utility industry \n\u2022 Project management skills \n\u2022 Ability to provide technical solutions built around customer needs \n\u2022 Time management skills \n\u2022 Possess negotiating skills while understanding and using techniques needed to close orders \n\u2022 Experience with preparing sales proposals that meet customer expectations \n\u2022 Experience utilizing value-added selling techniques \n\u2022 Strong work ethic, competitiveness, willingness to learn and adept at building relationships \n\u2022 Understanding of the utility segment and customers with an emphasis on T\u0026D\n\n## Additional Information:\n\nWe provide benefits that are industry competitive and focused on employee well-being.
