Respond to locate requests to comply with Mo-One Call program.
Respond to cave-in service requests.
Perform dye tests.
Inspect signage, check valves, and interceptors.
Respond to sanitary sewer overflow activations.
Expose structures to be located.
Replace covers.
Use River Mapping and Arc/Reader for locating and marking sewers: storm, sanitary, combined and pressure mains.
Interface with computerized maintenance management and mapping systems.
Enter data and provides updates and referrals for all computer generated work orders and service requests.
Provide on-call support to cover nights and weekends on a rotating basis.
Train personnel in the essential functions noted above.
Additional Responsibilities:
Enter structures to remove debris from inlets and manholes.
Remove debris from creeks and ditches.
Cut grass, weeds, and brush using hand and power mowers, scythes, and axes.
Load, unload, and clean trucks.
Cleans District vehicles.
Perform spill clean-up duties as a part of a clean up team.
Perform related work as required or as delegated by Supervisors.
Qualifications Training and Experience:
Completion of high school or equivalent required.
1-2 years of underground utility locating experience is preferred.
Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the state in which employee resides.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to perform heavy manual labor.
Ability to work outdoors in all kinds of weather.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to use hand tools and operate various types of equipment.
Ability to use a computer.
Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with the public and contractors.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the state in which employee resides.
