Job Description:

The Utility Worker Performs a diverse range of general labor, maintenance, and support tasks to maintain cleanliness, safety, and efficient operations within the facility. This role is essential for ensuring a well-functioning environment, contributing to overall operational effectiveness.

Duties And Responsibilities:

Utility Worker will report directly to manufacturing floor supervision and management. Responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks, including, but not be limited to, the following:   

• Operate Slitter to rework HFI’S Coils
• General plant maintenance/housekeeping

• Pallet sorting  

• Drum crushing
• Support waste disposal-Satellite Drum / waste area upkeep
• Perform General EHS Audits
• Move, load, and unload materials, tools and supplies
• Operate basic equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts or hand tools
• Organize storage areas and maintain accurate inventory where applicable
• Assist other departments with manual labor or task-based support as needed

Qualifications:

In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:

Minimum Requirements:

• Strong reading and comprehension skills
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Strong mechanical skills
• Basic computer skills a must
• Ability to maintain a positive presence in the workplace.
• Pass pre-employment testing, (drug test, physical and background check)

Preferred Requirements:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent
• Exposure in Manufacturing environment preferred

Competencies:

• Strong problem-solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approach
• Ability to work independently or with a team
• Excellent oral and written communication skills 

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl  
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., work in non-temperature-controlled environment.
• Flexibility and willingness to work an off shift and OT hours, possibly during the week or on weekends

Working Conditions:

• The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures
• The noise level is frequently loud
