Organization Overview:

Job Summary

The Vault Prep Cook is responsible for basic hot and cold food preparation including slicing, chopping, sautéing, and frying. Duties include following recipes to prepare sauces and salads, mixing salads, arranging vegetables, fruits, and cheeses on platters for service, and cooking and plating hot food items for buffet service. This role provides support across all Vault buffet service operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare required food items for the daily event menu


• Assist in the storage and rotation of delivered food and paper products


• Work in a neat and orderly fashion at all times


• Keep work area and kitchen in a clean and organized state


• Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and all equipment


• Additional projects, tasks, and events as assigned

Qualifications

• Basic knife skills including slicing, chopping, and paring


• Able to stand for extended periods of time


• Able to lift and carry products up to 25 lbs.; items over 25 lbs. require assistance


• Able to communicate both verbally and in writing


• Strong work ethic, ability to thrive in adversity, and empathy for teammates and guests

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time, non-exempt (hourly) position. Must be able to work flexible hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
