VDC Coordinator - Full Time Position

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and motivated VDC Coordinator to join our dynamic construction technology team. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of design, technology, and construction, helping to drive innovation and efficiency across our projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, particularly Autodesk Revit and Navisworks, combined with practical construction knowledge and excellent communication abilities.

As a VDC Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting project teams throughout the entire construction lifecycle, from preconstruction through project closeout. You will be responsible for creating, coordinating, and managing 3D models, facilitating clash detection processes, and ensuring that our virtual construction processes align with field operations to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Model Development and Coordination

• Develop and maintain accurate 3D BIM models using Autodesk Revit for various building systems including architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines


• Create detailed construction models that support field operations, prefabrication efforts, and installation sequencing


• Ensure model accuracy and adherence to company BIM standards, protocols, and best practices


• Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and trade partners to obtain and integrate their models into the federated project model


• Manage model versions and maintain organized file structures within the project document management system

Clash Detection and Resolution

• Perform comprehensive clash detection analysis using Autodesk Navisworks to identify conflicts between building systems before construction begins


• Generate detailed clash detection reports and distribute them to appropriate project stakeholders


• Facilitate coordination meetings with subcontractors and design teams to resolve identified clashes and spatial conflicts


• Track clash resolution progress and maintain clash detection logs throughout the project duration


• Develop and implement clash avoidance strategies for future phases of work
