Start dates are determined after funding confirmation.\n\nNorthrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Vehicle Management Systems Engineer (Level 2) / Principal Vehicle Management Systems Engineer (Level 3) to join our diverse Vehicle Engineering team in Melbourne, FL.\n\nAs the Vehicle Management Systems (VMS) Engineer you will lead the design, development, and verification of flight\u2011critical management systems that meet rigorous customer specifications and standards. This role bridges system concept, hardware/software integration, and operational testing, ensuring that every VMS component delivers reliable performance throughout the aircraft lifecycle.\n\nKey Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:\n\n * Define design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer specifications.\n * Develop thorough definition of system external interfaces. Defines system implementation approach and operational concept.\n * Ensure requirements are met and evaluates performance with customer.\n * Design flight\u2011critical control systems and overall VMS architecture with optimized redundancy levels.\n * Create and maintain VMS specification development, requirements definition, functional modeling, and VMS testing\n * Lead anomaly investigation and resolution.\n * Supports subsystems to VMS interfaces including managing requirements, design, testing and presenting updates to internal and external customers.\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications: \n\nThis requisition may be filled at a Vehicle Management Systems Engineer (Level 2) OR Principal Vehicle Management Systems Engineer (Level 3) level based on the qualifications below.\n\nVehicle Management Systems Engineer (Level 2)\n\n * Must have a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 2 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master\u2019s Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related professional/military experience.\n\n * Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.\n\n * Professional experience with at least one of the following technical disciplines: subsystem integration and test, data bus architecture definition, system integrity analysis, Vehicle Management Systems architecture development\n\n\n\n\nPrincipal Vehicle Management Systems Engineer (Level 3)\n\n * Must have a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 5 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master\u2019s Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related professional/military experience.\n\n * Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.\n\n * Professional experience with at least one of the following technical disciplines: subsystem integration and test, data bus architecture definition, system integrity analysis, Vehicle Management Systems architecture development\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\n * Previous experience with design, development, and/or integration of Air Vehicle systems and subsystems in the military/aerospace environment\n * Previous airworthiness experience\n * Integrated Hardware/Software (Subsystem/System Feature) validation experience.\n\n\n\n#AS-FA3\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
