Veterinary Assistant

American Veterinary Hospital is actively seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be a key player in supporting our veterinary staff and ensuring the best care for our animal patients. Your main responsibilities will include:

Duties

• Assisting veterinarians and technicians during examinations and procedures


• Feeding, bathing, and exercising patients as part of their care


• Cleaning and maintaining examination rooms, equipment, and animal holding areas


• Handling basic administrative tasks, such as updating medical records and preparing treatment rooms


• Providing general care, such as nail trimming and ear cleaning


• Ensuring the comfort and safety of pets and their owners


• Helping with laboratory work, including sample collection and basic tests

Skills 

• A genuine love for animals and a passion for veterinary care


• Experience in a veterinary setting is a plus, but not required


• Basic understanding of animal behavior and care needs


• Good communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members


• Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a team environment


• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail


• Willingness to learn and adapt to various tasks and situations
