Veterinary Technician - Cardiology

Veterinary Emergency and Referral Group (VERG) is seeking an amazing Veterinary Technician to join our Cardiology Department.

VERG is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to specifically serve the needs of the Cardiology Department and support our mission of delivering world class care to our patients.

• Provide exceptional and compassionate care for our patients from admission through discharge
• Support veterinarians in all facets of care, including interpreting and executing treatment directives
• Provide assistance to the Cardiologist during echocardiograms
• Electrocardiograms (ECGs) - 6 Lead
• Provide assistance during procedures like cardiac catheterization and pacemaker implantation
• Complete all necessary technical procedures and treatments, with strict adherence to department and hospital protocols
• Interpersonal communication with clients and referral veterinarians
• Maintain concise and accurate records of the patient's treatment progress and charges
• Assist with cleaning and maintaining cleanliness of cardiology suite.

• CVT, LVT, or VTS required
• Experience in cardiology preferred
• Proficient with medical mathematical calculations 
• Understand classification of commonly-used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response
• Basic computer skills a must
• Ability to handle and restrain dogs and cats
• Basic computer skills 
• Be able to lift 40 pounds
• Be willing to continue to develop your own knowledge/skillset
• Be able work independently and proactively and successfully as part of a team
• Have ability to follow detailed directions and established protocols
• Flexibility necessary to work weekends, holidays and additional hours as needed
• Good time management skills
