Vice President, Head of Balance Transfer Strategy

As a Vice President, Head of Balance Transfer Strategy in Credit Solutions, you will own the end-to-end strategy and performance for balance transfers offered to existing credit card customers, translating insights into decisions that improve customer and business outcomes.

Job responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end balance transfer strategy, including growth priorities, offer design, pricing, targeting, segmentation, and eligibility
• Manage full business performance and financial outcomes, setting clear objectives and tracking results through disciplined reporting
• Build and run a test-and-learn agenda across segments, channels, lifecycle moments, and offer constructs to drive measurable impact
• Partner with product, marketing, risk, finance, analytics, operations, legal, compliance, and controls to evaluate tradeoffs and deliver outcomes
• Influence roadmap priorities by defining high-value opportunities, expected outcomes, and business requirements
• Translate customer needs, behavioral insights, portfolio trends, and macro dynamics into clear recommendations and business cases
• Produce executive-ready updates that simplify complex topics and support fast, high-quality decision-making
• Lead cross-functional execution from strategy through implementation with strong accountability and stakeholder management

• Develop and coach a high-performing team while sustaining strong governance, risk management, and controls

   

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Minimum 8 years of experience in strategy, product management, consumer lending, credit cards, financial services, consulting, analytics, risk management, finance, or marketing strategy
• Demonstrated experience owning or materially influencing financial outcomes for a lending, payments, financial services, or customer growth business
• Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to simplify complexity, frame tradeoffs, and present clear recommendations
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial, customer, credit, and marketing data and translate insights into decisions
• Experience developing segmentation, targeting, pricing, offer, or channel strategies that drive measurable business outcomes
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
• Customer-centered problem-solving skills that connect customer needs to operational realities and business performance
• Strong execution discipline, including prioritization, decision-making with imperfect information, and delivering to timelines
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• MBA or advanced degree in business, finance, economics, analytics, marketing, or a related field
• Experience with U.S. credit cards, unsecured lending, existing customer marketing, portfolio management, promotional financing, or balance transfer products
• Background in pricing strategy, credit risk strategy, segmentation, campaign optimization, marketing analytics, or digital product strategy
• Hands-on experience applying AI or advanced analytics to workflows such as targeting, pricing analysis, test design, performance diagnostics, or process automation
• Experience building materials for executive business reviews, investment forums, governance, or strategic planning
• Familiarity with regulatory, control, compliance, and governance expectations for consumer lending products
