Position Overview






As Global VP, MSAT, you will set the bar for how we transfer and scale commercial programs (Phase 2a and up) from clients to FDB—rapidly, compliantly, and at consistent quality across sites. You’ll spearhead digital transformation in manufacturing, strengthen cross-site alignment, and build a compact, high-impact Center of Excellence that multiplies best practices globally. Your leadership will directly shape delivery excellence, client satisfaction, and our growth trajectory.

Job Description






What you’ll lead

  • Tech transfer excellence
    • Ensure seamless transfers of commercial products (Phase 2a+) from clients to FUJIFILM Biotechnologies, aligning protocols and practices.
    • Translate small-scale development into robust, large-scale processes in partnership with Process Development.
    • Optimize tech transfer speed and quality through digital investments; maintain regulatory and quality compliance throughout.
    • Advance digital manufacturing (IoT, AI, data-driven solutions) in strong cooperation with Global IT.
  • Operational integration and continuous improvement
    • Harmonize global tech transfer practices; scale best practices across sites.
    • Implement strategies to continuously improve manufacturing using digital tools and insights.
    • Drive delivery excellence through scientific rigor and CMC strategy alignment with partners.
  • Leadership and capability building
    • Lead the MSAT network across sites and build a small but strong Center of Excellence for cross-site initiatives.
    • Foster a high-performance, innovative culture; develop talent and enable knowledge sharing across MSAT and partner teams.
  • Client engagement and stakeholder alignment
    • Serve as technical liaison with clients—ensuring transparency, alignment, and satisfaction.
    • Represent FDB in meetings with potential clients.
    • Orchestrate strong stakeholder management and cooperation with Global IT, Global Expansions, local Engineering, Process Science, and Process Technology.
  • Performance and strategy
    • Monitor key financial and operational metrics to ensure alignment with FUJIFILM Biotechnologies strategy and client expectations.
    • Set short-term priorities and long-term MSAT strategy across sites.
  • Functional areas with dotted-line alignment to MSAT include:
    • Tech Transfer
    • Process Science/MSAT
    • Drug Product MSAT
    • Process Validation and Control
    • Material Science

Minimum Experience and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field,
  • Emphasis in life science or engineering preferred
  • Biotech/pharma experience preferred
  • 10+ years experience managing, leading and developing people; +5 years leading senior leaders responsible for functional areas or;
  • Master's degree +10 years experience in a similar role
  • 15+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CDMO industry, with significant expertise in technology transfer and scaling processes.
  • Strong experience in implementing digital tools and technologies within manufacturing environments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry standards related to tech transfer and manufacturing.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Proven track record of managing complex technology transfer projects and digital manufacturing optimization on a global scale.
  • Strong understanding of scaling processes from development to large-scale production.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
