Visiting Assistant Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice

The University of Memphis Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Teaching for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. The University of Memphis is an R1 Research University emphasizing scholarship, teaching, and service. The Criminology and Criminal Justice Department is a research-intensive group of faculties working within an environment committed to community engagement and collaboration. Candidates should have at least a master’s in criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related social science discipline or Juris Doctorate or Ed.D. This a generalist position and all specializations will be considered. Successful applicants are expected to have experience teaching at the university level. Faculty typically teach four courses per semester and are expected to participate in the service needs of the department and the University.
