Position Summary
Under direct supervision of the Visitor Center Team Lead, the Visitor Center Ambassador is responsible for assisting in the efficient operation of the visitor center, while engaging with visitors in a retail and tourism-focused environment.
This position combines hands-on shifts in the visitor center with sales, visitor information, marketing, digital content, and website support. Experience in marketing and website creation required.
This is a part-time position, up to 20 hours/week. Some Saturday/Holiday shifts are required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
In-Store:
- Provides friendly, knowledgeable customer service to visitors, including information and history of Midway and Wasatch County.
- Become familiar with products in the store and be able to recommend items.
- Operates the point-of-sale (POS) system with detail and accuracy.
- Familiar with products, Midway Businesses, events and happenings in Midway and Wasatch County.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and well-stocked retail display area.
- Shares information about local attractions, events, and products.
- Prepares the visitor center for daily operations, including Opening/Closing Procedures outlined by the team lead.
- Helps with general housekeeping cleanliness within the area; straightening up, wiping counters, restocking shelves and any areas needing attention.
- Ensures that customer/visitor safety standards are maintained while on shift.
Marketing & Website Responsibilities:
- Assists with website updates, product listings, and basic design/layout changes.
- Creates and schedules marketing content for social media, email, or in-store promotions.
- Supports branding and visual consistency across digital and print materials.
- Tracks basic marketing performance (website traffic, promotions, engagement).
- Collaborates with management on seasonal campaigns and promotions.
- Takes photos or short videos of products, events, or the city’s premises as needed.
- Performs other work-related tasks as assigned.

- Seeks clarity, asks questions when needed to obtain a thorough understanding of policies and special offers, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, public officials, contractors, and the public.
Education and Experience
The following education and experience is required:
- Education or coursework in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Web Design, or a related field.
- Basic experience with website platforms.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High school diploma or GED, (2) years retail sales experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Computer competency and experience using cashier retail software.
- Must be able to perform task operations with frequent interruptions.
- Must possess excellent customer service, communication, telephone, computer, and people skills.
- Be flexible and accept changes. Ability to work quickly and accurately.
