Job Description - VITA Program Coordinator

ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT THIS VITA COORDINATOR JOB?


As a VITA Coordinator, you'll play a key role in supporting a program that directly impacts the financial well-being of local individuals and families. This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role where you'll work alongside the VITA Program Manager to coordinate volunteers, support site operations, organize events, and help ensure a smooth and successful tax season.


This is a part-time, short-term & temporary, grant-funded position, with the possibility of extension pending grant approval in October.


ARE YOU THE VITA COORDINATOR WE ARE LOOKING FOR?


What will you be doing?


You will support the VITA Program Manager with research, site development, and volunteer coordination while helping organize and assist volunteers before and during tax season. This role includes maintaining program equipment inventory such as computers and printers, partnering with IT to ensure sites are fully equipped, and assisting with new site setup and special events like Community Tax Day. You will help plan and execute the annual Economic Empowerment Conference, schedule meetings, trainings, and program events, and collect, track, and report program data using Excel and other tools. Additionally, you will create materials to promote the VITA program, communicate regularly with volunteers, site coordinators, and stakeholders, greet visitors in a welcoming manner, attend outreach events and coalition meetings as needed, and take and distribute meeting notes while supporting overall program coordination.

SCHEDULE:



  • Part-time: 15–20 hours per week

  • Hybrid work environment with at least 2 in-office days per week

  • Flexible schedule between 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM

  • Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required based on program events and needs


Some Knowledge and Skill Required for the Position Are:



  • Experience in accounting and/or VITA programs (preferred)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive)

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based environment


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Extended periods of time working at a computer

  • Operation of standard office equipment

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally

  • Reliable transportation for periodic local travel

  • Ability to work in an office or team environment with moderate stress levels due to high call volume

Compensation and Benefits:



Salary Statement: The typical offer range for this role is from minimum to midpoint, with the midpoint representing the average pay for this in a market scope. Please note that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade for which this position belongs to. The salary offer considers a variety of factors relevant to this position, which includes knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The starting hourly rate for this role is $19.00/hour.
