Make a Difference in the Lives of Youth

As a Volunteer with Rite of Passage, you’ll have the opportunity to support and encourage youth while working alongside a dedicated team. You’ll work in an assigned area under the guidance of a designated supervisor and help create a safe, positive, and supportive environment for both students and staff.

What You’ll Do

  Encourage and support students and staff by providing guidance and resources when needed.

  
  


• 
  

  Help maintain and model the program’s standards, expectations, and positive behaviors.

  
  


• 
  

  Serve as a positive role model and mentor for students and staff.

  
  


• 
  

  Follow approved safety and physical-management procedures when required.Follow Rite of Passage policies, procedures, and applicable licensing requirements.

  
  


• 
  

  Participate in required meetings, training, and staff development opportunities.

  
  


• 
  

  Complete other duties as assigned to support the needs of the program.

  
  

What You’ll Need

To become an approved volunteer, you must:

  Complete all required volunteer approval steps before working independently with students.

  
  


• 
  

  Complete the Volunteer/Intern Application and Volunteer Agreement.

  
  


• 
  

  Sign required confidentiality, ethics, background-check, child-abuse prevention, drug-free workplace, and medical-information authorization documents.

  
  


• 
  

  Be at least 21 years old, unless prior approval is provided by the Program Director.

  
  


• 
  

  Successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screening.

  
  


• 
  

  Be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

  
  


• 
  

  Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
