Volunteer Member

We are always looking for bright and enthusiastic people to volunteer with Port Jefferson EMS. Our providers come from all walks of life including EMTs, paramedics, nurses and doctors but we also have students, teachers, police officers, and business workers. We are open to anyone who shares our ideals and is willing to make a commitment to give up some of their free time.

As a volunteer, you will get the opportunity to provide your skills at many public events such as festivals, concerts, community and sporting events. But most importantly, you will have the opportunity to care for your fellow human beings and play an integral role devoted to saving lives. While on duty, your primary responsibility will always be to provide emergency care, however there is no reason why you can’t enjoy the events you attend.

The prerequisites for joining are that you enjoy teamwork, are responsible, and are at least 18 years of age You will also need to pass our comprehensive physical agility test, background investigation, physical, and complete a drug screening. We will provide all of the training that you will need after you join.
