Job Description - VP Group Account Director




This client is an agency/consultancy firm focused exclusively on market access (ie, payer marketing) – is seeking a Vice President, Group Account Director who wants to contribute, learn, and advance in a highly collaborative, high-energy setting. This client is dedicated to helping pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies gain market access for their brands and thrive in the changing healthcare landscape. They also specialize in helping other types of healthcare companies, including service providers and technology companies capitalize on changing market dynamics and healthcare reform trends. This client operates at the intersection of traditional market research, strategy consulting, and advertising agency services. Requirements



The role of Vice President, Group Account Director operates at a senior level working to plan, coordinate and direct advertising campaigns for agency clients as well as identify and address changes in the marketing environment. We’re seeking an idea generating, solutions-oriented agency leader that will drive agency growth in partnership with our Principal. This is a management, client-facing role. 



  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a fast-paced agency environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising or related field

  • Candidates must possess US work authorization

  • Supervises account team members and monitors their performance both with their client counter parts and internally with other creative and operational departments. Distributes projects and reviews their progress continually to ensure professional growth is attained.

  • Excellent communicator with especially strong writing skills and experience presenting strategic and tactical plans to senior management

  • Ability to work in a team environment fostering ideas through integration and inclusion

  • Market Access experience

  • Demonstrated experience and success in leadership of cross-functional agency teams

  • Sound financial skills

  • Identifies process or procedure opportunities for improvements and suggests resolutions

  • Supervises creative development to ensure it adheres to the highest quality standards and communicates against strategy and objective across all communication channels

  • Serve as primary team interface with client product directors and directors of marketing strategy liaison with client on brand and business issues

  • Leads and supervises all activities between agency departments on the team

  • Reviews monthly and quarterly financial tracking reports with Operations lead and presents reports to client brand management

  • Provides leadership role for client and agency product teams

  • Formulates plans to extend business with established accounts

  • Supervises and participates in new-business development

  • Confident and organized individual who is able to apply their experience in order to provide insights and recommendations to clients

  • Participates in leadership initiatives to strengthen the company’s internal structure

  • Responsible for the strategic development and implementation of integrated marketing programs as well as ensures that all professional activities are in line with the agreed upon strategic direction

  • Efficiently manages account budget, identifies areas of risk and provides solutions

  • Experienced manager who can lead a large cross functional team

  • Actively instills the company culture amongst the team

  • Excels at client relations to ensure that the client has the optimal customer service experience

  • High motivation, good work ethic, maturity and personal initiative

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Effectively leads client engagement and ensures the organic growth of the business through client relations

  • Fluency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Occasional travel maybe required
