Vice President of Finance Position Overview Soccer Village is seeking an experienced, hands-on Vice President of Finance to lead the company’s financial operations and provide strategic financial guidance to ownership and senior leadership. The VP of Finance will oversee accounting, financial reporting, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and internal controls while serving as a key business partner across the organization. This is a highly visible role for a finance leader who can operate strategically while remaining engaged in the day-to-day financial operations of our growing company. Key Responsibilities
- Lead all financial operations, accounting, reporting, and financial controls.
- Provide ownership and senior leadership with financial analysis, forecasting, and actionable business insights.
- Oversee cash flow, working capital, banking relationships, and overall cash management.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting processes.
- Oversee Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and credit card activity.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and MTD/YTD performance reporting.
- Monitor profitability, expenses, margins, and key financial performance indicators.
- Oversee multi-state sales tax, 1099s, BWC, CAT tax, and other financial compliance requirements.
- Manage relationships with banks, vendors, outside accountants, tax professionals, and other financial partners.
- Partner with operations, sales, purchasing, warehouse, and retail teams to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Strengthen internal controls, financial processes, and reporting systems as the company grows.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability, cash flow, cost management, and scalability.
- Oversee year-end close and coordinate with the Soccer Village’s outside accounting and tax firms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including Controller, Director of Finance, or similar leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting, cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Experience managing AP, AR, payroll, month-end/year-end close, and financial compliance.
- Strong Excel and financial analysis skills; QuickBooks and MACH experience is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to balance strategic financial leadership with hands-on execution in a growing, entrepreneurial environment.
