Job Description:

The instructor will deliver a 6-week calculus preparation course for incoming College of Engineering majors for the Bridge to Engineering Excellence (BEE) program. The purpose of the BEE program is to prepare students for college-level calculus course and to improve academic performance and retention. Expected enrollment in the program is 190 student participants total in 7 sections. The instructor will train graduate students as instructors for the program, lead classes, and will be available for office hours during the program.

50% Instruct calculus I online course for the College of Engineering Bridge to Engineering Excellence including providing homework problems, administering weekly quizzes and final exam, and preparing a student outcomes and attendance report.

40% Train 3 graduate students to instruct calculus I online courses for the College of Engineering Bridge to Engineering Excellence; supervise work of graduate instructors.

10% Compile data from all calculus I online course sections across the College of Engineering Bridge to Engineering Excellence program to prepare attendance and outcomes reports.

Minimum Qualifications

PhD in Math. 2 years experience with specific experience teaching math at the college level and teaching online courses.
