Job Description - Warehouse & Inventory Specialist


Position Summary: 

A warehouse & inventory specialist manages, tracks, and reconciles stock, coordinates shipping and receiving, and maintains digital database accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stock Tracking: Perform daily cycle counts, routine audits, and physical inventory reconciliations.
  • Shipping & Receiving: Inspect incoming shipments, match bills of lading, and log outgoing freight.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate root causes for lost, damaged, or mismatched stock and apply system corrections.
  • System Management: Input data and update records using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).  

Additional Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Counts material and supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory records. 
  • Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of material, finished goods, supplies, and computes inventory balance. 
  • Prepares reports such as inventory balance. 
  • Stocks and issues materials. 
  • Uses a fork-truck to transport raw material to and from production lines. Tracks usage and maintains an up-to-date inventory list. 
  • Builds skids for skidded long cartons of finished goods. 
  • Transports skids to production lines for finished goods. 
  • Removes skidded finished goods from production lines and shrink wraps skids. Weighs and records net weight of finished goods. 
  • Transports scrap containers to production lines. 
  • Breaks down and stores raw material packaging. 
  • Unloads and receives raw materials, checks quantities, makes sure goods are not damaged, signs for the goods, and transports packing slips and paperwork to the proper station for logging in and processing. 
  • Generates bi-weekly (on selected raw materials), monthly, quarterly, and year-end inventory using data from daily records that are maintained and from physical inventories as necessary. 
  • Assembles spools and/or packaging per oral instructions using a glue gun and/or staple gun and manual hand motion. Carries or hauls necessary parts to assembly site. 
  • Performs housekeeping duties as needed. Removes cardboard and/or other debris from work areas to storage areas or trash bins. 

Requirements

 Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of logistics, stockroom, or warehouse experience.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy, proficiency in Excel, and familiarity with barcode scanners or ERP platforms.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long shifts and repeatedly lift 30 to 50 pounds.
  • Certifications: Fork truck certified/licensed
