  • As a Warehouse Lead, you are expected to maintain Grand Prairie’s Core Values in all communications with employees, visitors, and outside service providers. 

Role

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for the day-to-day activities within the warehouse. These duties may include shipping goods out, receiving finished goods from production, and overall support of Grand Prairie Foods’ Supply Chain goals. 

Responsibilities 

  • Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped
  • Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas physically and systematically
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins, according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code
  • Ensure warehouses are accessible and safe for employees and visitors
  • Ensure accurate movement of orders, both physically and systemically in the ERP system
  • Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via ERP System
  • Completing cycle counts and physical inventory as required
  • Count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards
  • Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other departments
  • Complete all shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, and checking in merchandise as required by facility
  • Make sure all purchase orders and sales orders are completed accurately and completed by the end of the day as required by facility
  • Accurately complete and upload shipping and receiving documents to the appropriate software by end of shift
  • Verifying all paperwork and processes throughout the shift is accurate as required by facility
  • Assist in training new and current team members
  • Go-to-person for all warehouse needs on the shift
  • Delegate responsibilities to team members as needed
  • Ensure personal safety rules are met
  • Ensure product safety and quality are met
  • Special projects as requested or delegated by management
  • Verify and communicate any shortages still needed at end of shift
  • Attend and participate in meetings as required in a professional manner

Education & Training Requirements 

  • High School diploma or GED required 
  • Experience operating powered-industrial-trucks

Work Experience Requirements

  • 3+ years of prior warehouse experience
  • Prior experience with ERP systems a must
  • Experience handling shipping and receiving documentation
  • Experience in a lead role a plus

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to walk and move throughout a warehouse environment
  • Ability to climb onto and off powered-industrial-trucks
  • Ability to operate an electric pallet-jack 
  • Ability to work in various working temperatures – freezer, cooler, and room temperature 
  • Ability to work alone or in a group setting

  • Ability to manage your own time to complete duties and tasks without direct oversite
  • Able to use critical thinking to solve complex issues that may arise
  • Ability to own and run the warehouse and ERP system effectively
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Understand and follow First-In-First-Out (FIFO) policy
  • Understand and abide by food safety requirements as outlined in SQF code
  • Ability to be certified and safely operate powered-industrial-trucks
