Position: Web Developer Department: Creative Services Reporting to: Web Design Art Director Location: Lenexa, KS/ Topeka, KS - Onsite Overview: What happens when great design meets great development? As a Web Developer at Advisors Excel, you’ll bring creative concepts to life by turning web designs into fast, responsive, and engaging digital experiences. You’ll work closely with our Web Designers and cross-functional teams to build websites that look great, perform exceptionally, and deliver a seamless experience across devices and browsers. You’ll join a creative team where development is more than writing code—it’s about solving problems, collaborating with talented people, and finding better ways to bring ideas to life. What you’ll do:
- Translate web designs and creative concepts into functional, responsive websites
- Conduct research and implement up-to-date coding and development practices to ensure high-quality solutions
- Build interactive elements and animations that enhance the user experience
- Develop and maintain website templates to streamline development
- Optimize website performance and conduct testing to ensure functionality across devices and browsers
- Research and implement current coding, development, and web performance best practices
- Document and standardize development practices to improve consistency and efficiency
- Partner with designers and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement
- Stay current with emerging web technologies and industry trends
Experience you’ll bring:
- 2+ years of front-end web development experience
- Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
- Experience with code versioning tools such as Git, Mercurial, or SVN
- Working knowledge of Webflow as a development tool
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Bonus Points:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- Experience with Figma and Adobe Photoshop
- WordPress development experience
- Understanding of DNS basics
- Google Analytics experience
