Job Description
Job Summary
The Web Press Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining web press equipment to produce high-quality printed materials that meet or exceed customer expectations. This role supports daily press operations, ensures product quality, and works collaboratively with team members to meet production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate assigned web press equipment to meet production and quality standards
- Support daily press operations and assist with team coordination as needed
- Review job specifications and prepare press for production runs
- Monitor print quality throughout production including trims, alignment, folds, ink density, color accuracy, and clarity
- Identify and correct quality issues in a timely manner to minimize waste and rework
- Perform routine and basic maintenance on press equipment; escalate issues when needed
- Follow all safety procedures and identify potential hazards or risks in the workplace
- Accurately document production data, job details, and performance metrics
- Work cross-functionally with production, quality, and customer service teams
- Contribute to continuous improvement and Lean initiatives
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of web press experience in a manufacturing or print environment
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred
- Strong understanding of the print process from prepress through production
- Ability to read and interpret job tickets, safety rules, and operating procedures
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on print and color quality
- Basic computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office is a plus
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
Physical & Work Environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Comfortable working in a production environment with noise, ink, and chemicals
- Required use of PPE at all times
