Job Description - Weekend Nursery Leader (PT)

Position Summary:

Lead Southland Kids Nursery volunteers to create a safe and inviting check-in and overall experience that leads kids to Jesus, builds trust with parents, and empowers leaders to serve.

Essential Position Responsibilities:

Attend Nursery Staff Huddle on Sunday mornings.

Lead Point Leaders, Small Group Leaders, and Welcome Hosts in the Southland Kids Nursery environment.

Welcome leaders as they arrive, help them check in, answer questions, and get them into Leader Huddle before each service.

Build relationships with and support leaders by connecting with them between services and communicating any needs to the weekday Children’s Team.

Work with leaders to maintain a safe and orderly environment and ensure that all safety policies are followed.

Work with leaders to oversee check-in and before services.

Make sure leaders have all necessary supplies and troubleshoot any supply issues.

Help leaders with children who may need more support or are having discipline issues.

Answer parent and leader questions.

Assist with Small Groups as needed in the 2's & 3's rooms.

Communicate with other staff throughout the morning to ensure safe and smooth service transitions.

Track and record attendance.

Help leaders balance ratios in rooms, shifting leaders or kids as needed.

The time commitment for this position is around 5 hours every other Sunday.
