Welder

Position Summary

We are seeking skilled and dependable Welders to join our production team on first or second shift. The Welder is responsible for performing a variety of welding operations while maintaining high standards for quality, accuracy, and safety.

The ideal candidate can read and interpret blueprints and machine drawings, accurately measure materials, and safely operate welding equipment. This position requires the ability to weld in multiple positions and perform inspection, material handling, equipment maintenance, and other production-related duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and machine drawings to determine welding requirements.
• Perform welding operations in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Set up and safely operate appropriate welding equipment and tools.
• Inspect completed welds for bead size, appearance, quality, and compliance with specifications.
• Use weld fillet gauges and other measuring tools to verify weld sizes and tolerances.
• Clean, degrease, prepare, and position parts prior to welding.
• Identify and measure materials accurately.
• Move raw materials and components into the welding area and transfer completed products to the appropriate location.
• Perform routine maintenance and necessary repairs on welding equipment and related tools.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow established safety procedures, work instructions, quality standards, and production requirements.
• Perform other duties and production tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and machine drawings.
• Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure.
• Ability to perform basic shop math, including converting decimals to fractional equivalents.
• Proficiency in using weld gauges and interpreting weld specifications and tolerances.
• Ability to identify, measure, and work with various materials.
• Familiarity with various types of welding equipment and processes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.
• Willingness to perform a variety of production duties as required.

Physical Requirements

This position is performed in a manufacturing/production environment and requires the following physical capabilities:

• Ability to stand continuously for approximately 8–10 hours per shift.
• Ability to frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 25 lbs. from floor level.
• Ability to occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to maintain a firm grasp while handling welding equipment, components, and a welding gun for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently bend and reach.
• Ability to occasionally twist, squat, kneel, and work in various positions while welding, grinding, and assembling frames.
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work Environment

The Welder works in a manufacturing environment and is regularly exposed to welding operations, metal components, grinding, heat, noise, and shop equipment. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and established safety procedures must be followed at all times.
