Job Description - Well-Being Initiatives Coordinator

Job Description

Primary Duties

Program Creation and Implementation

  • Supervises the creation, provision and coordination of population-level interventions, group programs, risk management programs, trainings, social marketing/social norms campaigns, screening and awareness events. This includes the topics of alcohol and other drug use, suicide prevention, sexual assault, domestic violence and other wellbeing issues as determined by research and system directives.
  • Prepare and oversee implementation of wellbeing education and healthy living and learning opportunities to sustain a wellness-focused environment that further develops academic and personal success of Colorado State University Pueblo.
  • This also includes purchasing items for programming and managing spending and reconciling accounts in KUALI

Wellbeing Initiative Compliance Oversight 

  • Conduct and analyze the institution’s biennial review for the Drug Free Schools and Communities Act (DFSCA).
  • Establish and maintain a sustainable peer mentor/educator program to educate and support student development and collaborate with other Student Affairs professionals to enhance the student experience
  • Maintain programming standards to ensure compliance with campus designations of JED Campus, Healthy Minds Campus, Coalition of Colorado Campus Alcohol & Drug Educators (CADE) Campus, Okanagan Charter Campus Adopter, and other opportunities as they arise.

Campus Assessment and Trainings

  • Provide alcohol and drug assessments for students. Administer and interpret relevant instruments. Make appropriate referrals and recommendations.
  • Conduct and supervise early education and intervention activities for at-risk students in collaboration with conduct, and other areas as needed
  • Conduct needs assessments, research, and surveys in wellbeing dimensions as needed. Other related functions as assigned.
  • Train Colorado State University Campus in Mental Health First Aid, QPR, bystander Intervention, Certified Peer Educator Certification, and other trainings as acquired to support campus suicide and prevention strategies

Ancillary Duties

  • Attend professional conferences/engage in professional development opportunities
  • Attend Department level and Division level meetings and trainings as assigned.
  • Other related functions as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree from accredited institution.
  • QPR certification, Mental Health First Aid Certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite
  • 1 year experience in programming planning and event coordination

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree in health/health related classes taken
  • Certified Peer Educator Train the Trainer from NASPA
  • Knowledge about Okanagan Charter,
  • Major event planning experience, purchasing & budget experience, KUALI experience
  • Data Collection utilizing integrated medical EHR, PyraMED preferred
  • Data collection utilizing integrated medical Electronic Health Record, PyraMED
  • 4 plus years experience in event planning, program implementation, in the education setting

This is a .70 FTE position (28 hours a week)

Salary

$38,700 to $41,000
