Link Solutions is seeking a Windows System Administrator (Senior-Level) to join our team at Adelphi, MD.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Active Top Secret Clearance required
• IAT Level II Certification equivalent or higher
• Non-remote (relocation assistance available)

The Windows System Administrator will support mission-critical information systems at the Army Research Laboratory (ARL). In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, security, maintenance, and optimization of Windows-based infrastructure supporting a globally distributed enterprise environment. You will work closely with IT, Cybersecurity, and operational teams to ensure the availability, performance, and security of systems supporting research and national defense initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows Server operating systems in enterprise and classified environments.
• Manage and support Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, DHCP, and enterprise authentication services.
• Administer Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) and endpoint management solutions.
• Install, configure, maintain, and secure Windows operating systems, server platforms, and enterprise applications.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate system administration tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Perform patch management, system updates, and software deployments in accordance with DoD and cybersecurity requirements.
• Implement and maintain Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and security hardening standards.
• Monitor system performance, analyze trends, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and operating system issues.
• Plan, implement, and test backup and recovery procedures to ensure system resiliency and data integrity.
• Conduct routine security audits, vulnerability remediation, and compliance assessments.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity teams to support vulnerability scanning, risk mitigation, and accreditation efforts.
• Support incident response activities and assist with troubleshooting complex system and network issues.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation, system configurations, standard operating procedures, and architecture diagrams.
• Participate in infrastructure modernization initiatives and technology refresh projects.
• Work with government stakeholders to identify requirements, improve services, and implement innovative IT solutions.
• Provide Tier III escalation support and technical leadership for systems administration activities.

Compensation Range:

• $120,000 - $140,000 
• Full-Time (Monday-Friday)

Several factors influence final compensation, including relevant experience, technical expertise, certifications, and education.

• U.S. Citizen.
• Active Top Secret Clearance.
• IAT Level II certification or higher in accordance with DoD 8570/8140 requirements (Security+ CE, SSCP, GSEC, CCNA Security, or equivalent).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field with seven (7) years of relevant experience; OR ten (10) years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Extensive experience administering Windows Server environments in enterprise settings.
• Experience supporting Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, MECM/SCCM, and enterprise Windows infrastructure.
• Experience implementing and maintaining STIG compliance and security hardening standards.
• Experience utilizing PowerShell for administration and automation.
• Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies, risk management frameworks, and security controls.
• Experience performing system patching, vulnerability remediation, and configuration management.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred:

• Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or equivalent Microsoft certification.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent cloud certification.
• Experience supporting Army, DoD, or Federal Government environments.
• Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or virtualized enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments including Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture and modern cybersecurity practices.
• Experience supporting classified environments and secure research networks.
• Experience with automation frameworks, scripting, and systems orchestration.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
• Experience leading technical projects and mentoring junior administrators.
