Position Summary:

As Wine Department Manager, you will grow Seed to Table’s brand by delivering best-in-class service and bringing to life a distinctive world of wine & beer for our customers. This includes building upon company programs and team member development plans to achieve sales, service, and operational performance goals. You will create interactive wine experiences and educational opportunities for our customers. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be on the leadership team creating a sales and service culture within the store to expand our customer base and maximize profitability.

• Understanding the Oakes Farms Seed to Table philosophy and culture and creating a memorable, WOW experience while increasing customer loyalty and retention. Greets customers in a welcoming, engaging manner, responding to questions, and offering recommendations. Awareness of Seed to Table social media events,
• Answering phones, taking special orders, and answering general customer inquiries.
• Assisting with receiving products, verifying retail price versus invoice cost, stocking shelves, replenishing beer and wine cold boxes, maintaining displays and stacks throughout the store, ensuring signage is correct, and ads and any price changes are in place and accurate.
• General department cleaning duties such as dusting, wiping shelves, sweeping, cleaning, and mopping broken bottles or any spillage, thus maintaining a safe and clean environment for our customers and associates.
• Focus on customer experience, brand, and loyalty awareness by building relationships throughout the community.
• Create and foster a sales-focused environment through the development of team members.
• Support an environment that encourages creative thinking and risk-taking.
• Learn Seed to Table’s full product portfolio to provide customers with recommendations that connect them to the right products.
• Design wine education programs to train team members and educate customers and implement through team coaching.
• Manage general operations and merchandising execution according to company procedures
• Maintain store inventory, product ordering, and vendor relationships.
• Participate in the performance management process, including reviews and ongoing career development discussions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 21 years of age or older
• 7+ years of wine retail sales, preferably in a high-volume environment
• Experience leading and motivating a sales-focused team
• Experience developing team member performance and coaching
• Value collaboration and acting as a team player
• Beer and wine experience in retail sales, hospitality, or restaurant industries preferred
• WSE, Sommelier, or other industry certification preferred
• Fluent in the English Language. Spanish is a plus.

Physical Demands:

• Able to stand for extended periods of time, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing, and twisting.
• Walk, bend, repeatedly, stand and be on your feet for the duration of the shift
• Climb ladders repeatedly 
• Manual dexterity 
• Regularly lift up to 60 LBS. 
• Must be able to work on weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as scheduled
• Non-slip shoes are mandatory for a safe working environment (please note that company does not provide)
