Job Description
Manage a full caseload of California workers' compensation defense matters from start to finish.
Prepare discovery, motions, pleadings, settlements, and other litigation-related documents.
Handle appearances, hearings, depositions, and other proceedings as needed.
Manage cases on appeal and work within applicable judicial and procedural requirements.
Communicate regularly with assigned clients and provide timely case updates and strategic guidance.
Prepare, organize, maintain, and retrieve case files, evidence, exhibits, pleadings, depositions, and related materials.
Develop case strategy and keep files moving efficiently toward resolution.
Analyze claims, identify risks and opportunities, and pursue effective defense strategies.
Deliver responsive, professional client service while managing competing deadlines and priorities.
Qualifications
Active California Bar license in good standing.
1+ year of California workers' compensation defense experience.
Strong knowledge of California workers' compensation law and litigation procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organization, time management, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Proven ability to manage a caseload independently and meet deadlines.
Insurance claims or subrogation experience is a plus.
