Pay: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year

Location: Fully remote throughout California. Work from anywhere in the state while representing California employers and carriers in workers' compensation matters.

Note: Active California Bar membership is required. Candidates must have strong written communication skills, be organized and responsive, and be comfortable independently managing files, deadlines, client communication, depositions, and WCAB appearances. California workers' compensation defense experience is strongly preferred, but we are open to training motivated attorneys who are ready to build expertise in this area.

Job Description

• Manage a California workers' compensation defense caseload from intake through resolution
• Represent employers, carriers, and other clients before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board
• Handle depositions, hearings, conferences, and other WCAB appearances
• Prepare discovery, legal correspondence, case evaluations, reports, and litigation strategy recommendations
• Negotiate settlements and work toward efficient, practical case resolutions
• Communicate directly with clients regarding case developments, strategy, exposure, and recommended next steps
• Independently manage deadlines, calendars, files, and ongoing litigation responsibilities
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff on complex matters and professional development

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to independently manage files, deadlines, and client relationships
• Comfortable handling depositions and WCAB appearances
• Organized, responsive, thoughtful, and eager to learn
• California workers' compensation defense experience preferred
• Attorneys newer to workers' compensation are encouraged to apply if they have strong litigation fundamentals and an interest in developing this practice area

• 2 to 4 years: $160K to $175K | 
• 5 to 7 years: $175K to $190K | 
• 8+ years: $190K to $200K+
