Worship & Music Ministries Director

Job Description - Worship & Music Ministries Director

The Director of Worship & Music Ministries provides vision, leadership, and direction for the entire worship ministry of Park Chapel Christian Church. Alongside regularly leading worship, this position develops people, teams, and systems that strengthen worship across Park Chapel’s multiple styles and environments. The Director will work closely with the Co-Lead Pastors and ministry staff to create worship experiences that are biblically grounded, spiritually engaging, and aligned with Park Chapel’s mission, vision, and values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Worship Leadership – approximately 40%

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for Park Chapel’s worship ministry across both the Gym and Chapel services.

  • Serve as the primary platform worship leader/presence in the Gym Service at least three Sundays per month.

  • Regularly participate in and lead worship in the Chapel Service approximately twice per month, vocally and/or instrumentally.

  • Work collaboratively with pastors and worship leaders to plan cohesive, intentional worship services.

  • Help ensure that each worship environment maintains its unique musical expression while remaining unified around Park Chapel’s mission and theology.

  • Plan and provide worship leadership for special services, holidays, and significant church-wide gatherings.

Worship Ministry Development – approximately 30%

  • Recruit, develop, disciple, and empower worship leaders, vocalists, instrumentalists, choir members, orchestra members, and other worship volunteers.

  • Build a leadership pipeline that develops new worship leaders rather than relying primarily on staff members to lead every environment.

  • Provide musical and spiritual development for worship ministry participants.

  • Strengthen and expand Park Chapel’s choir and orchestra ministries while continuing to develop contemporary worship teams.

  • Create healthy rehearsal, scheduling, communication, and preparation systems for worship volunteers.

  • Develop a culture in which worship ministry is understood as both musical excellence and spiritual formation.

  • Identify opportunities for children, students, and emerging musicians to develop and use their gifts within the broader worship ministry.

  • Foster unity and collaboration among musicians serving in different worship styles and environments.

Leadership & Production Oversight – approximately 30%

  • Provide leadership and supervision for worship and production staff and key volunteer leaders.

  • Oversee Park Chapel’s production ministry, including audio, lighting, video, broadcast, livestreaming, and worship technology.

  • Evaluate current worship and production systems and recommend improvements that strengthen both the in-room and online worship experience.

  • Work with staff leadership to develop appropriate staffing structures for worship and production ministries.

  • Develop and manage the worship and production ministry budgets.

  • Oversee equipment planning, maintenance, replacement, and future technology needs.

  • Collaborate with pastors, communications staff, and other ministry leaders to ensure consistency and excellence across weekend services and special events.

  • Participate as an engaged member of Park Chapel’s staff leadership culture and contribute to the broader mission and ministry of the church.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a life consistent with biblical leadership.

  • Strong theological understanding of worship and its role in discipleship and the life of the church.

  • Significant experience leading worship in a multi-service or larger-church environment.

  • Strong vocal and/or instrumental ability.

  • Experience developing musicians, worship leaders, choirs, orchestras, bands, and volunteer teams.

  • The ability to lead effectively across both contemporary and traditional expressions of worship.

  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, and empower leaders.

  • Working knowledge of worship production, broadcast, livestreaming, audio, lighting, and related technology.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and relational skills.

  • A collaborative leadership style and the ability to work closely with pastors, staff members, and volunteers.

  • The ability to provide vision while also executing the systems necessary to make that vision sustainable.

  • Experience

    • 3+ years of relevant worship ministry experience preferred.

  • Education

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred in worship, music, or ministry.
