Yard Crew/ Machine Operator

The Hinckley Company is a world-renowned builder of premium jetboats and sailing craft from 29 to 70 feet in length Maine and Rhode Island, and operates service yards along the U.S. East Coast.

We are seeking an Experienced Yard Crew Worker

Job Summary:

A Yard Crew Worker must hold a valid Commercial Driver’s License and performs general yard and heavy equipment duties under the supervision of the Operations Manager or working Foreman. The Yard Crew Worker understands yard logistics and overall goals and expectations and performs duties efficiently to schedule and budget.

Essential Duties:

1. Responsible for coordination of and removal of vessels from water, using movable lift crane or marine railway; moving to and from storage and positioning/securing correctly according to size, weight and weight distribution .

2. Understands tide schedules and coordinates yard activity accordingly.

3. Handles lines and has on-the water and boat handling experience.

4. Manages yard space allocation and coordinates workloads with all business units throughout the yard.

5. May operate fork truck and other heavy equipment (e.g., travel lift).

6. Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations during all yard activity and maintains safe, clean work area.

7. Responsible for pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspection and safety of vehicle and reporting unsafe or mechanical issues to supervisor / foreman.

8. Records load information, hours of service, distance traveled and fuel expenditure and maintains accurate log books.

9. All work to be performed to Hinckley Company quality standards.

10. Perform other related duties as necessary and assigned.

Two (2) years experience in a marine environment performing launch duties

Experience operating a Travel-lift

Fork lift training and or certification

CDL Driver’s License
