Yard Foreman

Job Summary: The Yard Foreman directs the activities of employees concerned with the yard. This position is responsible for utilizing personnel and equipment in order to achieve quality results and service. The Yard Foreman position is physically demanding and requires working in all types of weather conditions. 

Summary of essential job functions: 

· Provide outstanding customer service by being capable of all duties assigned to the Yard Clerk and performing them when needed. 

· Informs store management or personnel of any customer complaints or requests in a timely manner. 

· Listens to and resolves service complaints 

· Assure racks are fully stocked with quality lumber. 

· Assign yard employees to areas of responsibility and follow up on same. 

· Oversee deliveries and maintenance of all yard equipment. 

· Oversee cut-back and assure maximum use of lumber. 

· Assure a clean and safe working environment. 

· Maintain a good working relationship with customers, employees and management. 

· Assure employees are fully trained in duties. 

· Responsible for all yard services including deliveries and milling. 

· Complies with all company safety standards. 

· Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Minimum requirements: 

· Able to communicate with associates and customers clearly. 

· Able to follow directions and complete tasks. 

· Possess the skills to read, count and write accurately. 

· The capacity to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job. 

· Must have current driver's license and be able to meet the driver eligibility guidelines for the Company. 

· Working knowledge of all aspects of the yard. 

· Supervisory experience beneficial.

· Knowledge of office and operations. Abilities required: 

· Physical ability to stand for extended periods. 

· Move and handle boxes and merchandise which entails lifting frequently 100 pounds. 

· Work outside in various types of weather. 

· Perform all functions as set forth above. 

· Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
