Yard Jockey

Muskingum Iron and Metal is growing rapidly and is searching for experienced candidates for the position of Yard Jockey in the ferrous division. This position also includes the responsibility of maneuvering the yard truck in and out of dock bays, across the scales to complete preloading needs. This position will also take care of all scraped cars by safely removing all fluid, stripping components and removing hazardous parts.  If you are looking for an exciting place to work, please look at the list of qualifications below.

• Transport trailers from production area to scale for all preloads
• Ability to maneuver a tractor trailer yard truck 
  • Backing up to dock
  • Safely driving across scales
  • Ability to maneuver in tight spaces
• Work with Yard Foreman to minimize congestion in the yard
• Safely remove all fluids from all scrapped vehicles: gasoline, oil, transmission fluid, coolant, brake fluid, etc. 
• Maintain clean work environment
• Operate powered industrial equipment in a safe manner – Loader  
• Work in safety sensitive environments
• Willing to work in a dirty environment
• Willingness to be a team player and help when needed
• Willingness to learn
