YARD MANAGER

Big C Lumber is currently seeking a Yard Manager for our Fort Wayne, IN lumber yard. This is a full-time position with benefits, annual salary between $50,000-$70,000. 

We are currently building a brand-new Big C Lumber facility near the US 30 and I-69 interchange, giving you the opportunity to join our team as we expand our presence in the Fort Wayne market. This is an exciting time to become part of Big C Lumber and help us build something new in the community!

Yard Manager Essential Functions: 

• Personnel management and training


• Invoice delivery tickets and transfers


• Ensure accuracy of all incoming and outgoing freight


• Maintain inventory


• Maintain a clean and well-organized yard


• Receive all materials


• Aid with loading and unloading trucks 

Education/Experience: 

• High school diploma or GED preferred


• Valid driver’s license—minimum Chauffeur/For-Hire Endorsement


• Ability to obtain CDL B if needed


• 3 years’ experience in industry preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Self-motivation, leadership skills, team player


• Ability to accurately and rapidly meet deadlines


• Attention to detail


• Above average knowledge of equipment and materials


• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 80lbs


• Ability to stand and sit for long periods of times


• Ability to withstand prolonged exposure to harsh and extreme weather conditions


• Ability to coordinate as well as work in a team


• Ability to adapt to in-house software


• Basic computer skills and knowledge
